Covid 19 - Is God Rebooting Mankind?

In the Name of God Most Gracious Most Merciful,

The outbreak and pandemic of the Covid 19 is something never been experience in human history. A very small creature of God, so small yet so lethal, no legs yet travels so fast throughout the world, weak that can be easily killed outside its host yet so strong that the entire world effectively goes still.....

No exception to who can be infected....the rich, the poor, the royal blood , the commoners, the believers, the atheists, the unlearned, the scholars and the list goes on.....

As a believer, we all believe that none could have happened unless by will of God...as He made it clearly in Al Quran:-

Surah At Tawbah-9 verse 51
Say, "Never will we be struck except by what Allah has decreed for us; He is our protector." And upon Allah let the believers rely.

Surah At Taghaabun - 64 verse 11
No disaster strikes except by permission of Allah . And whoever believes in Allah - He will guide his heart. And Allah is Knowing of all things.

But this does not mean that Allah strikes disaster because He feels like it and whenever He feels like it.....like a game.

Surah Al Anbiya'a - 21 verse 16
And We did not create the heaven and earth and that between them in game.

Covid19 as we know it, is a family of coronavirus that typically circulating in animals. However, over the years, it has somehow able to reside in human as a host. There are many theories about this, but what we all know is that it originates from the exotic animal market in Wuhan.

God creates the earth and universe with systems and rules in place. Over thousands of years He send messengers who convey His words and some carry along scriptures like Torah, Injil and Al Quran, reminded mankind of these systems and rules and taught human how to conduct this world in a manner it will not be destroyed.

In Surah An Nahl ( The Spider) of the early verses from 3 to 12, God reminds us of His creation of the Universe, the system and ecosystem that He has put in place for human pleasure so that human are reminded of His greatness and be thankful.....the day and night, the animals for our comfort and food, Water from the rain that give lives to plants and fruits, the sea where there are fish for food and ornaments, the hills and mountains and the rivers and the stars for our travel guidance.

In the very early part of Al Quran, Allah warns mankind not to corrupt the earth or the systems and ecosystem that He created, but yet man will deny. Truth is mankind continues to destroy the earth without even realizing it.

Surah Al Baqarah - 2 verse 11-12
And when it is said to them, "Do not cause corruption on the earth," they say, "We are but reformers." Unquestionably, it is they who are the corrupters, but they perceive [it] not.

Very high likely, it is how human treats these animals and handling them for food in a torturous, cruel and uncleaned manner that allows the coronavirus finds or adapts into new host in human being. Human denies this without realizing that it is disasterous to the world.

The truth remains that it is mankind causes destructions in this world. The angels seems to know about this behaviour of mankid when God told them about Adam.

The angels are creatures of God that only know what being taught or what they have seen before. Ponder this:-

Surah Al-Baqarah-2 verse 30
Behold, thy Lord said to the angels: "I will create a vicegerent on earth." They said: "Wilt Thou place therein one who will make mischief therein and shed blood?- whilst we do celebrate Thy praises and glorify Thy holy (name)?" He said: "I know what ye know not."

Allah repeatedly says in Al Quran that all disasters, corruptions and unfortunates are consequences of what one or mankind has done to themselves.

Surah Ar Rum - 30 verse 41
Corruption has appeared throughout the land and sea by [reason of] what the hands of people have earned so He may let them taste part of [the consequence of] what they have done that perhaps they will return [to righteousness].

Surah Asy Syuura - 42 verse 30
And whatever strikes you of disaster - it is for what your hands have earned; but He pardons much.

Question now, is this it. What will happen in the next 6 monhts, 1 year, 2 years and beyond. Truth is only God knows and only He alone can save us.

Surah Al An'aam verse 17
And if Allah should touch you with adversity, there is no remover of it except Him. And if He touches you with good - then He is over all things competent.

Allah had blessed and granted many generations before this with wealth, strength and power but detroyed them for what they have done to themselves....their sins, iniquities, wrongdoings  and replaced the generations with another.

Surah Al An'aam verse 6
Have they not seen how many generations We destroyed before them which We had established upon the earth as We have not established you? And We sent [rain from] the sky upon them in showers and made rivers flow beneath them; then We destroyed them for their sins and brought forth after them a generation of others.

Surah Qaaf -50 verse 36
But how many generations before them did We destroy (for their sins),- stronger in power than they? Then did they wander through the land: was there any place of escape (for them)?

Surah Al Qashash - 28 verse 58
And how many populations We destroyed, which exulted in their life (of ease and plenty)! now those habitations of theirs, after them, are deserted,- All but a (miserable) few! and We are their heirs!

Surah Al Hajj - 22 verse 45
How many populations have We destroyed, which were given to wrong-doing? They tumbled down on their roofs. And how many wells are lying idle and neglected, and castles lofty and well-built?

Surah Al Anbiya - 21 verse 11
How many were the populations We utterly destroyed because of their iniquities, setting up in their places other peoples?

So what stops God from doing it again? Mankind has been destroying the earth and themselves in many ways for ages. Just to pick a few:-

(i)   Dividing Religion into Sects and group and each group feels they are better than the other groups.

Surah Al Imran- 3 verses 31-32
.... and be not ye among those who join gods with Allah,-Those who split up their Religion, and become (mere) Sects,- each party rejoicing in that which is with itself!

Today we see those who labled themselves "Islam" raised their weapons in the name of Allah but killed or even massacre another group  "Islam" merely because they follow different teachers or imams. They join their teachers or imams with God, exactly the way the above verses of Al Quran described. They put faith in their teachers together or even above Allah. They believe what their imams wrote than Allah's words in Al Quran.

(ii)  Multipled Profiteering and Gain in Falsehood

Surah Al Imran - 3 verse 130
O ye who believe! Devour not usury, doubled and multiplied; but fear Allah; that ye may (really) prosper.

Surah An Nissa - 4 verse 29
O ye who believe! Eat not up your property among yourselves in vanities: But let there be amongst you Traffic and trade by mutual good-will: Nor kill (or destroy) yourselves: for verily Allah hath been to you Most Merciful!

While Allah encourages trade and businesses but multiplied profiteering and gain in falsehood are forbidden. But today, the entire capitalistic economic system is about Private  Wealth. It is designed in a manner that profits to private individuals or entities are priority over wealth of the state. As such the system will maximise these profits at whatever means and costs. Thus multiplied profiteering is embeded into the system. Gain in falsehood is justified depending on which angle you be looking at.

Today, billionaires made profits out of paper tradings wiithout having the physical product delivered between sellers to buyers. Currencies tradings and commodities futures tradings are derivatives tradings. We even have derivatives over derivatives markets such as options, index trading and many more, created merely to satisfy capitalistic greed of making profits.

The world banking system seats on currencies that are backed by multiple layers of debts and no longer hard gold or silver as it used to be.

Perhaps Covid19 is part of God's plan. it is a message that one should not have rejoiced and be arrogant and proud over what Allah has given neither should one grieve over any lost. It is to Allah belong all things in heaven and earth.

Surah Al Hadid - 57 verses 22-23
No misfortune can happen on earth or in your souls but is recorded in a decree before We bring it into existence: That is truly easy for Allah: In order that ye may not despair over matters that pass you by, nor exult over favours bestowed upon you. For Allah loveth not any vainglorious boaster,-

Until a vaccine is found, despite most countries may be able to fully eleminate the transmission of the virus, there will be countries which need to be totally locked from the outside world (no movement in, no movement out) for a very long time.

Fears of infection will be norm and we probably start to see designer fashion face mask,  sanitizer in pocket and all corners, more bowing or hand gesture rather than handshake or hugging and many more.

What used to normally be considered as wealth may no longer be the case. The banking industry which is relevant today merely because of its entire system that is based on fiat currency will start to feel the pinch as a result of the intense emergence of the Peer to Peer Economy.

Most countries will have to rely more on the domestic economy and become self-reliant. As a result, demand and the use of foreign currencies will decrease. Gradually, we will see countries withdrawing themselves from the derivatives currency market. Even oil dollars may not last long.

Over time, the existing Derivatives Driven Economy may slowly collapse....currencies, commodities, indexes etc.  Perhaps, a more technology centric barter system will emerge and prevails. Currencies are mined out of good deeds and other means rather than asset backed....

Sounds like a perfect world with the downfall of the Capitalistic system and economy but that merely my personal point of view

Lastly, the following verses  of the Al Quran to ponder.

Surah Ar Ruum - 30 verse 33
When trouble touches men, they cry to their Lord, turning back to Him in repentance: but when He gives them a taste of Mercy as from Himself, behold, some of them pay part-worship to other god's besides their Lord,

Surah Ar Ruum - 30 verses 36-37
When We give men a taste of Mercy, they exult thereat: and when some evil afflicts them because of what their (own) hands have sent forth, behold, they are in despair! See they not that Allah enlarges the provision and restricts it, to whomsoever He pleases? Verily in that are Signs for those who believe.

This may not be the end of mankind as mankind historically will adapt too, to changes. But the world will not be the same anymore. Perhaps God is rebooting mankind.

Only Allah knows.

Whether you are with me or not on this....atahmu.
